Aramid fiber is also known as Kevlar. Aramid fiber composite has high specific strength and stiffness which in turn provides high impact resistance. Compared to the other Fiber Composites, it is a cost-effective composite material. The common applications of these fibers are bulletproof vests, ballistic and blast protection systems, cooling vehicles, radomes, ship hulls, and microstrip antennas for spacecraft . On the basis of the relative arrangement of chemical bonds in the aramid fiber structure, it is classified as Meta-aramid and Para-aramid. Para-aramid is more commonly used as fiber reinforcement in the polymer matrix. Kevlar is basically a para-aramid fiber.
